Ticket typo embarrasses Mohun Bagan ahead of crucial Bengaluru tie

A TYPO IN THE matchday tickets for Saturday's I-League clash Mohun Bagan vs Bengaluru FC match has left the host club embarrassed.

Some of the tickets for the April 1st fixture that have been already sold over the counter, featuring the security approval stamps of all concerned authorities, has a glaring mistake. While the date and time of the match has been printed correctly but the day of the week has been mistakenly listed as Tuesday when in fact it's a Saturday.

Images of the misprinted tickets are being widely shared online.

This is not the first time we have seen a typo on a ticket this season. Earlier, East Bengal misprinted the name of Mohun Bagan in their home leg of the Kolkata Derby. It led to a complaint to AIFF from Mohun Bagan, an apology from East Bengal and a clandestine operation to issue correction tags for all tickets.

It's unclear whether Bengaluru FC will pursue the same path for this printing mistake. While the Kolkata Derby was a fixture that many Mohun Bagan fans traveled to Siliguri to witness, not many Bengaluru FC fans are expected to travel to Kolkata for this weekend's fixture.

To their credit, Mohun Bagan officials, after realising the goof-up, immediately adopted an instant way of correcting the tickets; they blacked out the day of the week with a pen. This means that very few of the tickets sold to fans contain the error, which considerably reduces the impact of this mistake.
